Who We Are

Culture as a Bridge

CAI Project LA was born from a simple belief: that art and culture are not luxuries — they are the connective tissue of community.

Our Mission

Promoting Culture, Fostering Belonging

CAI Project LA promotes, guides, and produces theater, exhibitions, forums, and workshops for the dissemination of cultural heritage — fostering the integration of migrants in Los Angeles. We believe that every artist deserves a stage, and every community deserves to see itself reflected in art.

We work at the intersection of culture, community, and advocacy — creating spaces where performing artists, visual creators, and cultural workers can thrive, connect, and be heard.

What Drives Us

Our Core Values

Community First

Every decision we make centers the needs and voices of the communities we serve — especially migrants navigating a new home.

Cultural Heritage

We celebrate the richness of diverse cultural traditions, ensuring that heritage is preserved, shared, and honored across generations.

Artistic Excellence

We hold our productions and programs to the highest standard — because our communities deserve world-class art.

Radical Inclusion

We build spaces where everyone belongs — regardless of origin, language, documentation status, or economic means.

CAI Project LA grew out of the lived experience of artists and community members who saw a gap: Los Angeles, one of the world's great cultural capitals, lacked a dedicated home for the performing arts and cultural expression of its migrant communities.

Founded by a small group of artists, organizers, and cultural advocates, Kalinka Corbacho,  Juvenal A. Rodriguez, Tatiana I. Rodriguez, & David Rodriguez, CAI Project LA began producing theater, hosting exhibitions, and convening forums — building an audience and a community one event at a time. Today, with a renewed board, we are a registered nonprofit with a growing roster of artists, programs, and fiscal sponsorship relationships.

Our work is rooted in Los Angeles, but our vision is hemispheric — connecting artists and communities across borders, languages, and disciplines.

Christian Rodrigo, President & CEO

Christian Rodrigo

President & CEO

Christian Rodrigo is a Barcelona-born actor, producer, director, and arts leader based in Los Angeles. As President, Director, and CEO of CAI Project LA, he brings together a background in the performing arts, international business, and nonprofit work to advance Hispanic arts and culture and support international Hispanic artists.

His commitment to social impact began early in his career. After completing his studies at ESADE, he worked with Acció Solidària Contra l'Atur, a nonprofit addressing unemployment and economic exclusion — an experience that shaped his belief in creating opportunities for people to develop their talents and build their futures.

He holds a business degree from ESADE and an MBA through ESADE and Emory University. His artistic background includes membership in The Actors' Gang theater company, guest membership at The Actors Studio, and membership in SAG-AFTRA. He is also a former member of the Catalan Film Academy.

As founder and director of Brisk Festival, Christian created a bilingual platform where emerging and established artists present original theater in English and Spanish. Through CAI Project LA, he aims to create a welcoming home for international Hispanic artists in Los Angeles — a place to share their heritage, develop new work, and build lasting connections with the wider community.

Juliana Romeu, Director & Secretary

Juliana Romeu

Director & Secretary

Juliana Garcia-Gombau Romeu, professionally known as Juliana Romeu, is an attorney whose experience spans litigation, nonprofit advocacy, and community service. As Director and Secretary of CAI Project LA, she brings a legal perspective and a commitment to inclusion to the organization's mission of advancing Hispanic arts and culture and supporting international Hispanic artists in Los Angeles.

Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Juliana served as a litigation attorney at the Eviction Defense Network, a Los Angeles nonprofit organization. She represented very low-income residential tenants facing eviction, advocating on their behalf in both bench and jury trials. Working closely with individuals and families confronting housing insecurity gave her firsthand experience of the importance of accessible representation and community-based support.

At CAI Project LA, Juliana contributes to board oversight and responsible governance while helping maintain the organization's corporate records and document its decisions. Her background in nonprofit legal advocacy brings a valuable perspective to CAI's work connecting artists with opportunities, encouraging cultural exchange, and making the arts a welcoming space for diverse communities.
